Prioritizing your mental health and well-being may be the first step towards something greater.

Mental health care should be accessible, honest, and free of surprises—especially when it comes to cost.

Don’t see your provider listed?

If your insurance has Behavioral Health benefits that you think may cover your therapy sessions, at your request, I will provide a completed Out-Of-Network Provider form, or Superbill, that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Reimbursement, if any, will go directly to you. When billing insurance, a mental health diagnosis must be made in order to access your behavioral health benefits.

Please contact your insurance provider to better understand your mental health coverage.

Cancellation Policy

Appointment times are reserved just for you, therefore if you need to cancel your scheduled appointment, I ask that you do so at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointment time. If you are unable to cancel during this time, or do not show up for your scheduled appointment, a late cancellation fee of the full session fee will be charged to the client. Insurance will not pay for late cancellation or no-show appointments.

  • Life hits hard at times. We can often manage these experiences on our own, though other times professional support is needed. Therapy can help you gain new perspective on old issues, provide clarity, help you develop tools and skills to change behavioral patterns, untangle complex personal and interpersonal issues, or embark upon a journey of self-discovery or spiritual development. If you are unable to resolve your issue on your own, it may be time to seek professional help.

  • Therapy will also be tailored to the specific needs and goals of the client. You will be provided a safe and confidential space to explore your issues and share your thoughts and feelings on what is most important to you.

  • Clients seek support with a wide range of issues, including (but not limited to):

    • anxiety (generalized anxiety problems, panic attacks, agoraphobia, social anxiety, claustrophobia)

    • workplace issues (stress, work-life imbalances)

    • relationship issues (breakups, divorce, affairs, choosing inappropriate partners, loneliness, life adjustments, marital problems, arguments, jealousy, wedding and premarital issues)

    • depression (including suicidal thoughts, low mood, social withdrawal)

    • low self-esteem and lack of confidence

    • sexual problems (internet / pornography / sex addiction, loss of desire, infertility)

    • phobias and fears

    • bereavement / grief / loss.

  • The field of psychology is robust in terms of established therapeutic approaches and best practices. You are welcome to share if you have a preference for treatment, otherwise, this will be determined with you following your initial intake assessment. I use an integrative approach to treatment, utilizing various types of therapy to aid you in growing from where you are to where or to who you want to be.

  • The number of sessions needed varies from client to client and depends on your unique circumstances and clinical needs. Six sessions are often recommended with a ‘review’ to determine a future plan.

Note that once you start sessions, new issues, and even old ones, may arise that you then want to explore. It is of course possible to also see improvement faster than expected.

  • Frequency is based on several factors including clinical need and severity of symptoms, finances, scheduling, and preferences. Most clients meet weekly or every other week. Clients demonstrating progress or in the maintenance stage may meet monthly, or schedule periodic check-ins.

  • Medication can be a beneficial form of treatment for many people though not needed by all. I will work to discuss your symptoms and their severity and determine your need / interest in medication use. I am not qualified to prescribe medication; however, I can provide you with referral information for psychiatry.

  • I recommend asking these questions to help determine your insurance benefits:

    • Does my health insurance plan include mental health benefits?

    • Do I have a deductible? If so, what is it, and have I met it yet?

    • Does my plan limit how many sessions per calendar year I can have? If so, what is the limit?

    • Do I need written approval from my primary care physician in order for services to be covered?

  • It is not within my scope of practice to provide guidance or support requesting a leave of absence, accommodations, or to have an emotional support animal. I am unable to complete these types of documentation requests.

  • It is not within my scope of practice to provide guidance or suggestions regarding custody rights, co-parenting agreements, visitations, or placements, and I am unable to attend court proceedings.

When working with a minor, I invoke a “Safe Harbor” agreement to allow children the right to speak freely and openly discuss their concerns without fear of their disclosures being used against them in custody disputes.

  • Redemption Counseling is not a crisis or trauma response center. If you are experiencing active suicidal ideation or facing a mental health crisis, please call your local crisis hotline, or you may call the National Crisis hotline at #988 from your phone. Please call 911 or visit the nearest hospital if you are experiencing an emergency.
